I got a email from a guy in response to a post I put on VisorCentral. He had a broken Thin Modem (Springboard module) — the phone connector had come off.
I was a little leery about the extent of the damage, but I told him to send it to me and I’d give it a look.
Here is the before picture:
It turns out that the connector had come clean off, and the pads weren’t that damaged. In fact, they were still intact. I was quite surprised, but relieved as the rework would be much easier.
Below is the finished job:
I’m a bit surprised at Handspring’s quality control here.
