Some new music!

Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.

At the risk of pulling a Zappa, allow me to share some great new tunes I’ve been listening to:

Caesars - 39 Minutes of Bliss
This album lives up to its name. I haven’t had this much fun listening to an album since The Gerbils’ revelatory debut. You’ve probably heard Caesars’ infectious little ditty on the latest iPod commercial where the silhouette is dancing about… oh, wait, that’s all of the iPod commercials. “Jerk it Out” is the track, but there’s a few other better tracks. If you have iTunes, give these a listen:

Crackin' Up
“Crackin’ Up”

(I'm Gonna) Kick You Out
“Kick You Out”

Metric - Old World Underground
Gotta love the chick acts. I love their sound. Sort of reminds me of Juliana Hatfield with more of a big synthesized sound.

IOU
“IOU”

Wilco - Summerteeth
Wilco is sort of my new Radiohead. I live for Radiohead, so that’s saying a lot. Wilco has this warm, lived-in familiarity that I love. It’s mellow — very me right now — but also very inventive and unique.

How to Fight Loneliness
“How to Fight Loneliness”

I Am Trying to Break Your Heart
“I Am Trying to Break Your Heart”
