Cool story.

Yeah, every so often we have a storm bad enough that we have to shut down and anything that isn't a snowplow or an emergency vehicle gets fined if they're caught on the road.

Huh, funny. I don't remember describing any roses in my post. :P

Jeff, that's crazy. I didn't realize it could snow that badly. Illegal?! Wow. No doubt, I could have been stuck much longer.

I was selected from my high school to receive a scholarship to go on a United Nations tour when I was 16. We toured from here to Canada and back for two weeks. We spent four days in New York City touring from sun up until very late every night. We went everywhere and saw everything, except for this sexy Moroccan restaurant. :( How fun! Although, James seemed a little too enthusiastic about the belly dancer!

Sounds like a fun, adventurous, stressful and exhausting weekend!

My friends with boys carry empty plastic pop bottles for bathroom emergencies. You don't even have to get out of the car and there is a cap to prevent spillage. Just a suggestion.

Good job with the roses! ;)

That is a great story, and very well told, too!

I was in NYC/NJ over Valentine's Day in 2004. We were there with a choir, which included my now wife, then girl-I-was-trying-to-date-who-refused-to-be-known-as-my-girlfriend. It snowed. A lot. As in "The governor has declared that New Jersey is closed today." Illegal to drive, all airports closed, etc. Residents told us that NJ has about 10 snowplows to strategically deploy, and their basic snow removal plan is "Wait for June." We were stuck on the East Coast an additional three days in the storm (good quality time with my wife, though). So I'll just say you were lucky to make it out of NJ last weekend!
