So the last quote may have been a little smart-alecky which wouldn't be surprising considering my personality. I think I felt compelled to ask the question because to me the quote you left doesn't ring true with the idea of voting for Obama. In a world that is increasingly liberal it is much more of an act of courage to stand up and admit one is a Christian, especially if you live in any kind of large city. To me the 'safe' and 'popular' choice this year was Barrack Obama. Running against a party with a hugely unpopular President during the turmoil our world is in made voting for McCain the much less 'safe' choice, the more 'risky' choice. The risk being that it could have truly been four more years of the same. But this is a semantic argument that could be waged on both sides. Which is really my point. The quote just seemed a little too much for me to take this morning. I'm happy for Barrack Obama and I didn't wake up feeling like the world had ended. In fact I am actually more interested in world affairs than ever before and will keep my eye closely on what will happen. Not because I want Obama to fail but because I want him to succeed. No matter who won last night that is what I want to see happen...success. Growth. And coming together. Change? I guess I'm not convinced yet. Until our government, democratic or republican, begins to be more fiscally responsible with the overwhelming amount of money we already give them I will continue to believe that whatever skin a politician is wearing, donkey or elephant, they are little more than a wolf in another animal's clothing.

So....where does that leave issues like abortion and the rights of the unborn in this now democratically controlled world. Are these not issues of conscience?

I echo (paraphrasing) what William Bennett said on CNN last night. I pray (and will) pray for him and I sincerely hope that he turns out to be a very good president.
