  • Metric?

    The auto mechanic asks me, “metric?” I think a second. “I believe it is, yeah.” Sort of a weird question. I mean, most of the bolts are metric, but I think some of the other hardware is English. No, he was talking about the make of the vehicle. It’s a Toyota Matrix. MATRIX.

    The similarities of music to language are very striking.  While I fancy myself fluent in the latter (English, that is), I’m still very much a novice in the former.
