Decuple Word Reviews

Ebert and Roeper both liked Lord of War quite a bit. I think they liked Nick as much as anything. You have to admit, he really does play just about any roll so well.

Rob’s big spinach salad

Where’s the dressing?

What’s wrong with you?

church smorgasbord!

I have to go to a church that challenges me in my every day life.

I don’t think I have ever gone to a church that didn’t challenge me in some way.

Grindstones, hones and diamonds are for blades with a very poor edge on them. They are for putting a rough edge on a blade.

Don’t forget that this verse is from a time where you either had a rock or another blade to sharpen on. You would use a rock for putting on a rough edge and steel for putting on the finishing touches.

Maybe we interpret that verse differently. To me, iron sharpening iron is not a violent rough process. That has already happened. Iron sharpening iron, in a spiritual sense, is two men/women sitting down to a great study in which the two learn from the word and from each other’s experiences.

To me, this verse is talking about simple discipleship.

Thanks for commenting and I hope you become a regular around here!

You try to explore your feminine side and this is what you get.

It’s ok, one click of my mouse and you can kiss this site goodbye! Don’t push it, mountain man!

I’m too lazy, and I was in a hurry!

» Posted By James On August 30, 2005 @ 4:13 pm

It looks like you had a great time.

Parties and friends like that make the move even more painful.

I don’t feel sorry for them, though, I miss you every day. (now that was sappy)

Colorado pic update!

I love the quote of the day from that church’s site.

“Because we offend God and stand in need of mercy, we are unwise to propose limits on it.”

How do you like the weather change? Are you looking forward to some show?

My new office!

AAahhhahha, gotta love the velvet!

Carl will decorate your office with posters of stuff no one has ever heard of.

Then, when it’s all done, he will paint it dark purple.

Looks like you need a visit from Carl.

He is an office decorator extraordinaire.

I thought you were at MTSI till August 20th?

Oh well, can’t beat Colorado for your birthday!

Kids? 😯

» Posted By James On August 8, 2005 @ 10:55 pm

Rob, that is just awesome. When you call out to God for help, He will answer. God communicates with us in so many different ways. He has never failed to give me direction during hard times. We don’t always get quiet enough to hear Him.

Randomly opening the Bible is a great way to see if God has something special for you. I know Julie and I have done that many times. More often than not, the verses I turn to apply. The whole book is His word anyway, I think the chances are pretty big that you will hear something you need.

It is very exciting to see what is happening in your life. I know that all of us here in KC are excited for you and are involved (maybe in emotion and prayer only) in this journey you are taking.

Sensuality is not antithetical to faith

I’m not all that ‘plugged in’ to contemporary music as it is. I didn’t even know that Bono claimed to be born again.

I don’t see why everyone has to explain his actions. You can’t blindly follow anyone, not even your pastor. Trying to explain away Bono’s actions only shows me someone who has their eyes on the wrong man.

Do you guys/gals remember how big of a hit Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant took when their songs started getting playing time on non-christian stations? Those two never (that I can remember) pulled any of the things Bono has done and yet they were called all kinds of things just because they started singing stuff that wasn’t mainstream gospel. I understand that now Amy Grant is in a different marriage and such.

I’m thankful that God has an abundance (more than I can ever use) of grace to give me, cuz I’m worse than Bono, I’m just not on national tv when I mess up.
