I think it’s because they were just hoping for a bigger pay off at the end like Sixth Sense, when actually each was more of an introspective resolution.

Hmm,
Interesting question. At the risk of sounding very conservative, I would have to say that social programs such as equal-opportunity employment and affirmative action have flourished in this postmodern environment. Neither of those programs could have been feasible 50 years ago.
It’s a tough ideal to promote, that of elitism. If a society goes too far with hero worship, you become very susceptible to fascism or class warfare. On the other hand, if everyone is reduced to the same worth and ability (whether truthfully or not), it starts to feel Orwellian pretty quickly.

Take a look at the fonts on his “passport”. Do you see how crisp they look? If it were scanned, those fonts wouldn’t have such nice edges. Compare those with the other fonts of the passport, where this is some tearing and smudging. Those are legit. His name and personal info are not.

Hmm, two excellent points, ladies. On one hand, Angela’s point about religion greatly reduces the numbers.
But then Julie’s point brings in the supernatural, which is indeed — by definition — unquantifiable.
