Licensed Coloradoan

I guess I meant to say I wasn’t guessing earlier today as I was at the “painting party”. Tori was there too; we all painted CJ’s new room.

Being the sensible person that I am; I was not up at 2 a.m. guessing Freeman’s first name. Or was that Rob’s middle name?

Jules and I were at a painting party today at C and J’s.

Wow what a handsome and photogenic guy!

Compared to some states Colorado has some fairly plain license plates.

Where’s the big UNDER 21 on your drivers license???

Further march toward suburbia

Wheee! Way to go, Angela! I love the house. Is it one or two bedroom?

» Posted By Mary On September 21, 2005 @ 9:21 pm

church smorgasbord!

Ah, yes, so many choices which is a good thing.

Kenneth Copeland had a wise thing to say about which church you choose to attend. God does call you to a place and service in building the House of God and each congregation has a calling. If you are called to be a plumber and are attending a church full of carpenters you will not feel right nor will you feel like you are doing God’s will for your life. That is nothing against that church; you just need to be in a church that shares your vision/calling. It is a wise pastor who recognizes this and does not guilt people into staying at his church when God has called them to another. Mary’s paraphrase.

Final outing

This from the man who never misses an opportunity to remind me that he is 8 months (yes, months) younger than me.
🙄

I came, I saw, I conquered

Rob, congrats on your new job and new place. I hope you meet some great friends. Are you closer to KC now?

Colorado pic update!

🙄 Sure, whatever, Jules!

Happy belated special day, Rob! Cool pix! I thought at first the sunbeam picture was of Missouri – it was the road construction that looked oh so familiar. 😕

Your apartment looks great! I am impressed that the toilet seat was down. You must save that picture to help show what a sensitive guy you are thinking of the needs of women (of course you probably had not even used the bathroom yet).

Meme Therapy

Rob, your post brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Carl and Julie, for sharing too. It is a message that God has been trying to plant in my heart but in my insecurity, I keep ripping it out. Thanks, my friends.

Ahh, Cupid

Ahh…I got a good one, didn’t I?

Auto-dimming mirror upgrade (w/ compass!)

How did you learn to do all these projects that you do? I am very impressed…

Of course, I am more impressed with Carl for taking apart a bunch of pipes in the basement and cleaning out the yucky, mucky mess in the tub drain pipe. I am sure that it was a lovely Father’s Day activity for him.

Hurray for being able to take a shower without having to take a bath at the same time!

Electric razor battery repair

Rob, was one of the questions on the eHarmany survey, “What would you do if your electric razor quit working?”

A. Purchase a new one
B. Switch to disposable Bic razor
C. Grow a beard
D. Replace the batteries
E. Tear it apart, take pictures, and post on your blog about it.

You my friend are perfect the way your are.

Matrix Reverse Beep Mod

You could fix my washer while you’re at it. Very cool pictures! You could put that in your “Why I would make a good husband” portfolio. 😆 Any man who can tear apart the car and put it back together properly is quite a find.

The car does still run properly, doesn’t it?

Rob and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

You have opportunities that are very near, but you are hiding them from yourself.?!? Sounds like at least four of them.

You know what Freud would say about the tunnel…

What’s with Jimmy, Carl, and Rob posting in the wee hours of the night/morning? As my mom would say, “You’re going to make yourself sick staying up so late.”

I still love to read children’s books. They are quick reads, are fun, and teach universal lessons about how to appreciate being in someone else’s shoes.

Julie – We need Karen to give us her take on these house dreams. It sounds like a symbol for your life or your outlook on your life at that given point in time. Or maybe you just really need more room in your house. :o)

UFO sighted!

I don’t know what the balls of light are, but they seem to be showing a great fascination with the pole. Perhaps poles are worshipped and revered in their homeland.

The eye of the storm

Wow! That was amazingly awesome, Rob. I actually had to talk outloud to the crew I was getting so nervous for them during the set up. “Get in the car. Go, go!”

Dating games

Okay, this is my absolute last post (at least in a row). Wouldn’t that be so cool if we could all get together?

» Posted By Mary On May 28, 2005 @ 3:42 am

Angela, what do you say? Do you want to fly down to get together with us next Thursday? Free food and lodging…

» Posted By Mary On May 28, 2005 @ 3:40 am

Rob, You are an awesome guy and any wonderfully talented, computer geek, woman would be glad to date you. You are one in a million, or perhaps 1 in 5? hee, hee.

I am so excited about seeing you and Melissa next week.

Angela, I am sure that some are happy with eHarmony, but pleeeaase, it does sound a little less than upfront. Just think Carl is shorter than me and we have been married for 16 lovely years.

P.S. I only say he is shorter, as opposed to I am taller because I was born 8 months before he was so must have preference in many things.:)

Paper Clips

I am looking forward to seeing the film, Rob.

I have a picture in my office of my great-uncle J.D.West who was a co-pilot who was killed in action in WWII. On a recent visit to my parent’s house, I looked through some letters J.D. had sent his sister (my grandmother) from Italy and was also able to read the account of his plane crash in the words of the chaplain assigned to the 454th Bombardment Group. It makes my heart hurt to think that there are few people alive who remember him; my dad being one of the few.

Pieces of April

One of my co-workers saw Pieces of April, and he said that he and his girlfriend really didn’t think it was that funny. All I can say to that is, “Huh?” I think they went in with the wrong expectations because it was a wonderfully moving picture with humorous elements. There are so many themes that we can all relate to, especially just really wanting things to be okay with your family relationships.

I admit that I cried at the end quite a bit.

The Hero and The Wilderness

Hi, Rob. New to your blog here and it looks like you’re in the process of transferring over to a new one. Found you by way of Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings, which I of course found by way of (whispers) Michele. [One ‘l’.]

Anyway, I really enjoyed this post and your comparisons. Reminded me of something my own husband might write based on his being a Batman fan (and lover of all the other movies you mentioned here) as well as having a bit of a turbulent relationship with his father at times, and now being a father himself. Inward quests are big.

Take care,
-Mary

Who left the seat up?

The Great Jim Dietz lives and has a great vocabulary too.

» Posted By Mary On March 29, 2005 @ 3:38 am

I very much appreciate Carl leaving the seat down. I guess I am spoiled. 😉
