I’m back, baby!

It is always weird to go back to Tulsa, having lived there for 7 years. I met my wife there, we had Tori there…pretty significant stuff. Going back now, however, it really doesn’t feel like home. Seems almost foreign now.

Sudoku

I’ve heard of/seen this and although I realize their isn’t any math involved per se it is still numbers…something I’ve never had a great love for…I’m not really big on logic puzzles either…I do love Mah Jong though!

Snow Day!

I don’t think so Jules because even Nebraska doesn’t get the snows it used to. We have pictures of some of the massive snowstorms. When I was 16 I was spending the weekend with my friend Monty while his parents were out of town. We went out with our girlfriends Friday night and took them home early when it started snowing. It snowed so heavily that we were snowed in at his house for 3 days and couldn’t get out…we were only a mile away from my house but the roads were so bad that they didn’t get out to clear them for 3 days. It was awesome. We made our own meals, cranked up the music (lots of Def Lepard Pyromania), watched movies, talked on the phone. It is one of my better teenage memories.

I am so freeking jealous!!! That’s awesome! I love snow and we never get enough to satisfy me. We had incredible snow storms in Nebraska when I was a kid and I miss that.

Flaming Lips and the Search for Manhood

Looks interesting, I’ll have to check it out later when I have more time.

I’m not sure your meaning was all that sly, Rob! I look forward to it as I’ve heard of them but don’t think I’ve heard any of their music. Thankfully the entire album you’ve referenced is available for listening on my Real Rhapsody account. Yay!

Singleness: disease or identity?

And yet James fulfills me completely…how odd. 😕

You single people are all freaks!!!!! 😛

Just kidding of course. Great thoughts all around. I think one of the worst mistakes any person can make when they are unattached, or even after they are attached, is to not cultivate a relationship with themself and also with God. It is trite but true that you have to really know and love yourself in order to cultivate meaningful relationships with others. So many people defer the opportunity to really find out who they are and what they want to do simply because they are out there looking for someone else to fill a gap in their life.

Insert Girlfriend Here

Probably the perfect time to concentrate on other things considering you’ve just moved to a new state…its the perfect opportunity to make some solid frienships and get to know the area you live in. I feel for all single people who don’t want to be single. I can’t imagine not being married. You have my prayers and support.

Well, you watched football last night, Julie, and got James to hang blinds tonight…sounds like you’ve found your winning formula! 😆

I hope everything works out Angela. Its an enjoyable headache to be a home owner and it beats apartment living hands down!

That’s looking downright homey! Now all you need is the rocking chair and a pitcher of lemonade and the illusion would be complete!

You’re funny Mr. Dibben! 😈

» Posted By Carl V. On August 26, 2005 @ 3:56 pm

I remember what its like. It has been 7 years since we moved from Tulsa to Kansas City but I remember how hard it was leaving friends eventhough I really hated living in OK. Things couldn’t be better. When God is the author of the move its amazing how much better things are. I’m excited for you and this new chapter in your life.
